All though all the plants and creatures that we have in our world exist in the roleplay, so too do more original plants and creatures that can have magical powers and/or properties. Each flora and/or fauna will have a brief description followed by size comparison to the average human, diet, colors, any magical/physical attacks it can use to defend itself, and what races can use the fauna as a charge, pet, or familiar along with any stats needed for special events. Some plants or creatures may be too dangerous to tame/use and will be labeled as such.
Use Control+F (PC) or Command+F to find a specific flora or fauna that you are looking for or browse this thread at your own leisure.

The microlupins were originally domesticated by ancient pursa, back when they were nomadic and before they settled at Mt. A'meana. Microlupins are smaller than average wolves, the tallest recording at a height of 1'5" and the smallest pup being at 4" in length. They have a wonderful temper and are often playful but loyal. They're also quite clever and obedient. You can tell when a microlupin is happy just by the wag of it's tail. Wild microlupins could originally be found on Selgamed in the vast forests around the continent, however it is believed that they have died out due to multiple causes like over-hunting and disease. Now the only ones known to exist are descendants of domestication by the pursa.
Physical Skills: Equipped with strong jaws with sharp teeth, great hearing and sense of smell, and can dig real fast with the use of it's front paws and claws. Magical Abilities: None
Colors: Orange and Red Flame (Petals), Dark Green (Stalk and Leaves)
The firebright flower grows after a forest fire that was started through magical means. The fire itself kills just about every life in the forest pertaining to plants (thankfully animals have legs and can escape) but untouched seeds that are under the ground and just sprouted have the chance to turn into a firebright flower through magic leftover from the forest fire. The petals glow in the dark, almost like a fire itself, while in the light they look like actual flames and they can provide warmth when it is cold. A single flower will grow from a single stalk, making the flower rare and valuable. The petals can be used in many fire-based potions thanks to its magical properties.
Lifespan: 80 Days without help, 120 Days with help Average Size: 11 Inches Tall
Lightning Moss is grows wherever lightning has struck on solid ground or objects (this includes man-made buildings and structures). They take the shape of what looks like fuzzy and soft neon green balls that blanket entire areas and give off a static-y feel and can actually shock those who touch it. These moss balls multiply, though not all that fast; in a span of a year there'd be five where there used to be one. It could take days to years to find out where lightning has struck but at the rate the moss grows, it's actually fairly common to find even if it was just an accident to stumble upon them. Because of their lightning origins and magical properties, they are mostly used in speed and lightning-based potions.
Lifespan: 80 Days without help, 120 Days with help
Solid Flavors (Very Common): Banana, Vanilla, Blueberry, and Strawberry Duo-Flavored (Common): A mixture of any two of the solid flavors Tri-Flavored (Uncommon): A mixture of any three of the solid flavors Rainbow Flavor (Rare): Includes all four flavors
Many would consider puffballs to be both flora and fauna because of their properties. The cotton that they grow are, in fact, part of a plant. This plant, that can not survive on it's own, attaches itself to the animal's bare skin as spores shortly after the puffball is born. These spores take root into the puffball's flesh and uses the puffball's excess of nutrients on it's skin to grow as a soft armor and food source for the puffball. This plant has four different variants, ranging from different flavored cotton including vanilla (white), lemon (yellow), blueberry (blue), and strawberry (pink). These spores come from the puffball's family and herd, which means they're typically the same kind of cotton. It's not uncommon to see multiple-colored puffballs due to merged herds but it's rare for a puffball to have all four colors of cotton, due to the required conditions. A puffball regrows picked cotton every 10 days.
The animal part of the puffball is actually quite light and doesn't even have any bones or much meat. They are mostly hollow, minus the organs need to live, and are mostly full of air. When they are born they are too heavy to float but the cotton they grow from the plants that take root and grow 10 days later produce helium through the same magical properties that give the cotton flavor and makes it edible, making it taste and feel like cotton candy to the touch (a squeaky voice can be temporarily gained after consuming puffball cotton). This helium is what makes the 10 day or older puffball float in the air, just heavy enough that they never go any higher than three feet off the ground unless propelled by an outside force, mostly large gusts of wind. Because of the helium produced inside the cotton, the puffball cotton balls are useful in potions and spells that are flight or float-based.
Lifespan: 12 years Diet: Grass and Puffball Cotton

Earth spirits are not inherently ‘living creatures’ nor are they a type of flora. They are an entity that has the ability to pass through solid objects and there are numerous of them across the world. They don’t have a physical form and they do not have the ability to breed nor can they be entirely destroyed. They simply exist. Earth spirits are believed to be as old as Nouva itself. Most races can’t see these entities and the ability to communicate to them solely rests on the pursa.
Earth spirits are believed to have spawned over an undetermined amount of earth within a certain radius (this can include dirt, rock, sand, mud, crystal, etc.). It doesn’t share this space with any other spirit. Earth spirits are not surface level; the deeper into the planet you go, the more you will find. Earth spirits have the ability to move their own territory through a push, most likely moving into another earth spirit’s territory (which can cause a fight between the spirits) thus they normally choose not to unless otherwise convinced by a Terra Phantom (they can calm fights between the spirits). Communication with them consists of speaking in one’s own tongue, but being able to understand the otherworldly whispers of the spirits themselves.
Earth spirits are naturally small, their whisps being about the length of a regular human’s forearm. They typically hide away in their territory, unseen unless called upon. They’re typically easy going, even if another creature or race tears up their territory, either for playing or building on, and will either migrate to new land or watch over whatever structure has been built/creatures on their land. This can result in an earth spirit becoming hostile if a creature or race destroys what has been built upon their land or if they put any creatures in danger. Anger can lead to falling rocks, landslides, and eventual death for the transgressor.
In the past, with the help of a Terra Phantom pursa, the spirits have worked together to create a tunnel to safety for those fleeing Mt. A’meana.
Lifespan: Eternal Diet: They don't eat
The earth spirits are not tameable.
Physical Skills: None. Magical Abilities: The ability to take over its own radius of territory and manually move it, often by having to be convinced by a Terra Phantom.
Colors: Purple (young) and Green (mature), Lime Green (Berries)
This type of nettle will spring up late fall, typically between the second and third months, and can often be found growing along frozen rivers, streams, lakes, and ditches. Unlike the stinging nettle, this type of plant doesn’t need gloves or protection to pick as it won’t harm the gatherer. This type of plant can be eaten or used in potion brewing that revolves around animals.
It’s nettles are a bold and vibrant green but are often mis-indentified as a weed by those who don’t know any better. It grows in dense clusters and grows taller than the average aryun. The leaves are in the shape of a heart at the base and have jagged edges, growing as large as 5 to 8 inches long! If a plant is too young to be used, it will have a deep and rich purple color.
Lifespan: Several months, lasting between late Fall to early Spring Average Size: 6 to 8 feet in height
Colors: Many variants but always pale and muted colors.
The unmentioned are believed to have appeared alongside the Hell Raiser, most likely traveling between the portals that appeared during the Era of the Brand. They can be found on multiple continents because of this or perhaps they were stowaways on travelling ships. Upon first appearance, they were originally thought to be diseased deer but the fact that they had human-like hands and that their size didn't correlate with the size of known deer species (easily towering over most races of Nouva), this was ruled out. They can be typically found in dark and vast forests.
Degrees of rot varies between the unmentioned spotted; some can mostly be bone, others could be missing limbs, some could seem perfectly healthy save for their starved state. Despite having a pair of hands, they are known to travel on all fours, whether running or walking. They will attack and eat living creatures and they are mindless beasts that can not be tamed. They simply live for devouring all they can. To help them stalk their prey, they have the ability to turn completely invisible. They can mimic the scream of women and the crying of babies. The further away the cry or scream seems to be, the closer they are.
Lifespan: Unknown Diet: Other creatures
This creature can not be tamed and is highly dangerous.
Physical Skills: It has long claws and horns to gauge living creatures with. Can trample other living creatures if going at a high speed. Magical Abilities: The ability to go invisible and mimicking cries/screams (giving the illusion that they are further away when they are up close).
Common Features: Reddish scales, pale underbelly, flaming tail and mane, a wooden-looking horn.
There are multiple species of kirin throughout Nouva but the flame kirin, in particular, live in or around active volcanoes. Swimming in lava frequently is done mostly for the sake of reigniting the flame of their mane and tail, should they flicker and extinguish, or for better safety from rock slides. They sharpen their horns on rocks to keep them in peek condition, should they need to defend themselves, and use shallow pools of lava as nesting grounds for giving birth to their young in. Flame kirin can be tamed directly from the wild but they can and will attack if threatened.
One of their natural predators is the lava slug and, as such, they tend to travel in herds for their safety and protection, especially for their sick, elderly, and young. They can not die nor do they suffer from getting soaked by water but they can sink should they attempt to swim in a large body of water. Water will put out their flames but they can swim in lava to reactivate them. However, they will be unable to use their flames to set things on fire.
Lifespan: 13 years Diet: Plants and Earth (Rocks and Pebbles are common)
Physical Skills: Can run fast and swim through lava. Magical Abilities: Set fire to things with it's mane or tail (not guaranteed through contact and has to be willed by the kirin).
Common Features: Mostly lava but can sport obsidian along it's body.
Lava slugs are the natural predators of the flame kirin. Like the flame kirin, they can be found in or around volcanoes. These creatures completely submerge themselves underneath lava as a way to keep their heat at peak and for stealth when hunting but are slow moving when on land. They lay eggs on the lava shores, partially submerged. They have no fear of creatures messing with their eggs as they have no predators themselves and so do not swim around or near them for protection. Wild lava slugs can not be tamed but if a newly hatched lava slug imprints on a person, they can be trained to be obedient.
Their bodies are hot to the touch and they trail lava and burn marks. Lava slugs are destructive with their heat, uncontrollably so, and set fire to anything that can go up in flames. It's best to keep them away from forests, or to keep them on a dirt path to avoid creating a forest fire. Keeping them out of buildings that are made of wood or similar flammable material is also recommended for everyone's safety. As part of their instinct to feed on their natural prey, they will immediately attack flame kirin's on sight should they be hungry enough.
Lifespan: 3 years
Diet: Meats, mostly flame kirin
Charge: N/A
Pet: Artrune, Mewah, Pursa, Sil'nyy
Familiar: N/A
Physical Skills: Can swim through and submerge themselves in lava. Magical Abilities: Accidentally sets things on fire with it's really hot body.
Also known as the maned tutter, this bird is believed to be from Tuphiobax. There is no actual record of this creature's existence until much recently, as the closest records of a bird similar to this one. It's believed to have evolved rapidly from a very recent ancestor. This creature can be tamed straight from the wild (all though may be a smart-ass during training) and be trained to respond to different kind of whistles. Birds of this kind are very popular among hunters or trappers that can use magic, as they can use the maned tutter's eyes as their own using scrying techniques. Despite how much of a pain it is to train them, they are proud creatures and loyal to their trainers, willing to risk their own lives for them if need be.
Lifespan: 50 years Diet: Insects, preferably worms
Coats: Any pattern and fur color that real-life cats can have but can only be short-furred cats (naked or long haired have never been seen).
Like our house cats, nekomata enjoy attention and being petted. They can get fussy if things don't go their way and can be very demanding, either verbally or physically (your cat ever tried to tell you they want food by bringing their bowl to you?). Despite this, they are very playful, like dangly strings and toys that make squeaking and jingling sounds. They are addicted to catnip and will sometimes have moments where they feel like they need to run around the house at high-speed with no stop in sight. They also enjoy hunting, especially hollowed rats.
Nekomata are incredibly smart and can go on errands to retrieve ingredients for their masters or even go on fetch-quests. They don't mind being dressed up, especially if it's to help them run these quests. Small satchels to carry items, custom collars to carry messages, water-proof capes to protect them from the rain, even little hats to protect their ears. If you find your nekomata pulling off certain pieces of clothing you got or made for them, they may not like the material it's made of.
Lifespan: 20 years Diet: Fish and some meats (especially the hollowed rat)
Physical Skills: Can run fast, climb very well, and sometimes act like they have no bones and can fit into small spaces. Claws and teeth are used for defense and attacking. Magical Abilities: None.
Colors: Green, Blue, Red (each has their own unique darkness counterpart)
Hollowed rats are common vermin that can be found throughout Nouva, typically found in large bustling cities. Unlike the common rat that originally infested these cities, hollowed rats were first found in Alver's Hollow. From there, they were either released into the other cities from those who kept them as pets or they had been stowaways during trades between Alver's Hollow and other people. They have become a staple of the nekomata's diet and are known to breed like crazy. Those kept in captivity, either as a pet or familiar, have known to outlast the lifespan of the wild hollowed rat. They have a tendency to eat anything they can get their little claws on and can even chew through wood to get to stored food in cities. They can be highly intelligent and are very hard to get rid of. They can be used for scouting and can also be used for theft, due to how sneaky and cunning they are.
These rats are special if only for the fact that they have a tendency to have a form well suited for darkness. Since the hollowed rat can not see very well in the dark, they have the ability to transform and emit their own glow so that they can navigate better. It's a common belief that they become more aggressive in their darkness form but that is incorrect. However, their claws and teeth tend to be sharper in this form and they are even somewhat scary looking; this may be the reason why the assumption was formed to begin with.
Lifespan: 4 to 10 years Diet: Eats just about anything
Physical Skills: Can run fast, climb very well, and can fit into small spaces. Claws and teeth are used for defense and attacking. They are also very smart. Magical Abilities: When they are in the light, they're adorable and docile looking. When they are in the dark, they are scary and actually have better physical attacks.
Dragon Not to be confused with Dragon Class Art by KraftKraken
These creatures are extinct. There is no possible way to role play with them.
It is believed that dragons were the origin of the Dragon and Rider Classes. Mehwah believed that the now extinct dragons had been two-spirited. When the dragon was killed, it's two spirits wandered Nouva to find new hosts. This would explain why Dragons and Riders have what is now called the 'Mark of the Dragon'. It is also believed that Riders have the magical abilities that the dragon once had and that Dragons can take the form of the original beast. Old texts tell of how some dragons had the ability to speak through the mind. Unfortunately, this can not be proven or disproven due to the fact that they are extinct. However, if the Dragon and Rider Classes are anything to go by, it may prove to be true.
Before their extinction, many people would seek the massive creatures out for different reasons. Some believed that they could predict the future, some believed that they had magical healing capabilities that no one else possessed, while others just wanted the glory and fame that came with slaying such monsters. A new breed of natural born power, developed by an unknown source, was known to be created for the sole purpose (at the time) of killing dragons. It is believed that these people born with this power are the reason why dragons have gone extinct.
There are no known recordings of dragons ever existing but only shortly prior to the hell raisers first appearance on Nouva, which is believed to have happened because the last of the dragons had been slain. Back then, dragons came in all shapes and sizes. Some were as small as a mouse and could fit into one's pocket while others grew as big as a mountain. Some had two to four legs, others had more. Some had wings, some had none, while some had fins. It was believed that the dragon's connection to the elements helped determine what they looked like, as studies on the Dragon Class are anything to go by.
Hell Raiser Art by KraftKraken Written by creatoradam Co-written by Doku-Keiran
Hell raisers appeared at the start of the Era of the Brand, said Era having been named for their arrival. They are very hostile and will often kill others on sight. The only known races to be able to withstand them are the mewah and their magic or a larger coxayli's strength.
Hell raiser color can range to purple, blue, gray, red, etc. They have horns that vary in shape and length. Hair varies in color and style and their teeth are similar to sharks or canines. Some hell raisers don’t wear clothes and others do. The clothes that they wear are fire resistant. Hell raisers don’t wear much armor; Only the areas that are most vulnerable, which is the torso and the head, have armor. The hell raisers don’t have a heart but they do have something similar, a molten core that pushes lava-like blood through their veins.
Hell raisers are a tenacious species capable of surviving most injuries that would be fatal for other species. They can survive losing their arms and legs, being impaled, immunity to poison, electrocution, and being burned by magical flames. Being pierced through the head would only leave them unconscious. If a limb is lost a hell raiser can survive just fine without it and won’t bleed out. The only way to effectively kill a hell raiser is beheading, blunt force, and they are susceptible to magic attacks other than fire. Splashing water on them weakens their lava-like heart making them severely vulnerable. Inflicting a fatal blow after weakening their lava-like heart is guaranteed to kill them. They can also be killed by throwing them in a large body of water causing them to drown since they’ll become too weak to swim. Destroying their lava-like heart will also be fatal. However, their lava-like hearts are difficult to break. You will not be able to one shot it unless you strike it enough times. Only after it is weakened by water does it soften.
Lifespan: Unknown Average Size: 7' to 8'9"
This creature can not be tamed and is highly dangerous.
